2014 CB1100 Now On Honda's Website!
San Pete which questions? I have to travel for a funeral today so wont be back to check until tomorrow morning

Well, in this picture of the CB 14 deluxes tank I found the first thing I dont like about this bike...not a deal breaker, but I don't care for the raised section in the center of the tank. Would rather it had been a smooth top all the way across like the original 70s Hondas. I know our 13's have this too, but this would have been a good opportunity to smooth that out.

I was referring to post #97, specifically what was the trade in value of the '13? I see what you mean about the hump in the tank, not very attractive.

Ferret,
I agree. It could look better if it had smoother lines but it's not bad enough to matter. I would like to buy a Deluxe and have it painted black but because I bought a new Indian Chief a few months ago, I'm going to have to go with the black Standard model. After dropping 20K on the Indian, my cash reserves are kinda low for a while. BTW, I love the Chief but I'm looking forward to the CB just as much. The Deluxe is an amazing bike IMO and I REALLY love the exhaust!

Just look at the threads around this place a few weeks back. Collectively as a group, we still didn't know what might, or might not be headed our way this year as far as the CB1100 was concerned.

Also, it's one thing to be dissatisfied with a product, but to want a different product even more doesn't necessarily mean that a person isn't happy with what they bought. We all have different preferences. For many, the 2013 model was the best thing going back when it was released. Now for some, the 2014 Deluxe model will supplant the 2013 offering as the bike that comes the closest to their ideal. That doesn't strike me as being all that difficult to understand. I hope that everyone out there who is pining for a 2014 model is able to find a way to make it happen. Especially if that means selling or trading in a 2013 model. The more CB1100s out there being ridden, the better.

Guth said it best above ....

I want to be clear, I really love my 2013, great motorcycle, not a thing wrong with it. I am just more attracted to the looks and features of the 2014 Deluxe that's all. I was able to make the trade without having to dip into my savings very much ( important when you are retired like me). Many of the physical attractions on the 2014 are changes many of you have made to your 2013s at considerable expense..seats, side covers, tanks, exhausts etc. the only changes I made to my 2013 were the little rubber end covers ( already on order for the 2014), a removable windshield which will fit the new one, soft luggage ( fits the new one) valve stem caps $2 and they are black so they will stay with the trade, grips will get moved to the new one, helmet lock will get moved to the new one, and battery tender pig tail which will get moved to the new one. So I will be out about $6 worth of changes I can't switch over.

Ferret, I know you said you were pleased with the deal... and that you traded in two bikes for the new one. But do you think you we're given a good price for your '13
and/or a good price, relative to sticker, on the '14? In other words, without the 2nd trade, would the spread have been 'about' what's been bantered about elsewhere on the forum? Also... How many miles were on your trade? And did you have to turn in your '13 now, or will you do that when you take delivery on the new one? I'm going to trade in mine, but was planning on waiting until the new ones arrived. However, 'maybe' it would make sense to do it now...before they arrive. Thoughts?

Sorry gheil, missed this question. I felt I was treated fairly and we came out pretty close on what I was expecting to get and pay difference for all 3 units. I'd give you exact numbers but they would do you no good as numbers only mean something to the two parties involved. I know what I paid for my CB and what I got on trade. I know what I paid for my Majesty and what I got on trade and they were all numbers I could live with. I have bought 6 new motorcycles from this dealer in the last 7 years and I am personal friends with the owner and have known him for 40 years so it's possible I get treated a little better than a stranger walking in off the street, but I think a savvy shopper who wont let a dealer wholesale his trade and then retail the new unit on him could do just as well.

I mentioned the Indian in another thread and have asked someone to help me because posting pics never works out when I try it!

Gheil..missed a couple of your qs now that I re- read it. 7000 miles on my trade and he is getting my trade ins next week so he can try and sell them before the new one comes in. I have 2 others I can ride in the meantime, my ST and my wife's Majesty.

I was joking actually, but I did assume it would be the larger tank. I'm surprised it will be the small one. (?)
Ferret,
On the Honda website, it states that the photos are of the European model. Given that, are we absolutely certain of which wheels the U.S. model will get? Since you already ordered one, What did the dealer say?
