Park outside until end of winter ? Or fool around with a tooth brush between the cylinder fins before you open the garage door? My bike and me loooove hibernation

Dont't split hairs, live is too short to create problems

In theory (a well designed house), if there is a room above the garage, it ought to be properly insulated from the garage. In addition, heat rises, so any heat in the garage will tend to permeate up. Fix those issues and your garage should settle closer to outside ambient temperature without the wind chill. You will still have humidity and dryness issues, depending on your region. When you need heat, disable redirection or turn on an electric heater. An electric heater actually dries the air. Anyway, I don't have a garage so the bikes get nice 'n' cold.

My parking situation has a big tool box, a TV and a coffee maker. And it's under my house, so if I am needed, my wife can stomp on the floor to let me know.
My mind and soul are very happy.

Dave, you are not alone in having rust issues with the CB1100. I don’t think some of the materials used are fit for purpose.

Out of all the bikes I have owned NONE have exhibited rust like my CB1100. I still love this bike, and I still plan to NEVER sell it. I just have to pay extra close attention to keep it clean and rust free.

Dave, I have to admire your admiration for the CB1100; I mean, you went through quite a bit with the high/low idle issue and got that sorted out and you have the rust issue. Yet you seem to thoroughly enjoy the bike still. I'm happy for you in that regard. |
