So, I have above average size feet, and if I wear my steel toe boots which are required at my job, I can't comfortably get my foot under the shift lever to up-shift. I used to wear a barefoot hiking shoe that really gives me full movement of my foot, and I never had this issue.
Are there aftermarket longer shift levers that work with the CB and has anyone tried it?
Has anyone changed the location of the shifter relative to the spline shaft it sits on? I have it in the stock position and tonight I think I might try rotating it up a spline.
Edit: Going to try adjusting this after searching the forum some more.
Thanks
Also, the link between large feet and other certain male appendages being large is untrue. I just have large socks

Try moving it up a bit and see if your boot can fit under it. With the different BMWs I'm riding for work now, when I pick one up at the main location and bring it home to work on it and make deliveries, I'm finding that most shift levers are set a bit low, and brake pedals are a bit too high for my boots. I'm adjusting accordingly and it's much more comfortable and easier shifting.
You know what? I actually would like a pickle.

I put a smaller rubber piece from the old Hondas on the gear shifter. It helps.

The problem may be that the shifter peg is too high or too low, in which case adjusting the height is done by loosening the nuts at both ends of the shifter adjuster rod will allow you to raise or lower the shifter tip. The adjuster rod is like a turnbuckle, in that it has left hand threads and right hand threads.
The forward nut, which is visible, is left-hand thread. The nut you can't see, at the back, is normal right-hand. I bought a special wrench just to access it without removing the pivot bolt.

I'm not sure I'll every need that specialty wrench, but I want one just because it looks cool.

If it isn't too much trouble, can you help point me to that wrench? I would like to buy.

I got it from Amazon, made by Sunex but no longer available. Search for "10 mm Angle Wrench" and you'll find one made by Capri that looks the same.
Mac and Snap-on also have them for lots more.
