Type II handlebar alert
#1

Just tried installing the type II bars on my 14 std. Unfortunately the drilled locator holes for the switch housings were nowhere close to where they need to be. About 45 degrees off. If I installed the switches in the holes provided, they would be rotated forward by that amount. Obviously unusable.

Anyway, I purchased them this week from samurider, Honda part #53100-mgc-930. Don't really want to send them back to Japan. Anyone have any thoughts?

Re-drill the locator holes.

Have no desire to do any drilling. I was under the impression that they were a direct replacement. Plus, they are only about an inch lower, and inch narrower in width, same sweep. Not worth the trouble imho.

I had to drill my bars when I put the 13 switch in my 14. I think they'd probably fit a 13 just fine.

They're a 1:1 straight forward swap on the '13, at least mine was...

They fit perfectly on the '13, and I believe the difference in dimensions are a bit more than you've described. They make a noticeable difference once installed. May be worth drilling, just put them in a vice, get the right bit, easy. Otherwise I'm sure someone here with a '13 will buy them from you. I love my type 2's!
