Whitehouse 4.7 Gallon Tanks ???

Dam, I really want a bigger tank and love these whitehouse tanks.

Why are they so darn expensive. !!!

Couple questions..

1) How much could I realistically sell my tank for ?
2) Can anyone think of any more affordable alternatives ?
3) If I get a bigger tank for my 2014 standard would the computer automatically adjust and be accurate ?

The unpainted one is cheaper, but that would require me to have it professionally painted. Hmmm. .. It's still a crazy $1,400..
Maybe someone on the board would like to sell me there used 2014 deluxe tank ?

List price for a tank is about $1000. Partsfish sells them for about $716. I think Samurider sells Honda factory tanks for less.

I bought a '13 tank from a board member for $300 plus my dented tank. So my guess for your tank--at least $300, maybe 400? (fuel pump and cap not included. More if they are)

That's my thought anyway.

If you go for a tank that needs be painted, there is a talented custom painter in Alma, Eddie Bedgood. He does quality work and reasonable price. He did my Ryca Cafe Racer.

I too crave the Whitehouse tank. The capicity would be nice but the lines of that tank are so beautiful.

I am taking a guess at this. But my guess would be that you would need the extra capacity tanks fuel sending unit.

The part number for fuel pumps is the same for both bikes on partsfish. Maybe its programmed in the computer? By that I mean the fuel capacity would indicate correctly, but how would the computer know to adjust the total miles, etc. based on a bigger tank being on there.

I have a '13 so don't have all that and am guessing that the '14s are like my ST in that it tells you how many miles you can go, etc. based on how much fuel is left and how many MPG you got in the last X number of miles you went.

If anybody knows, I'd be interested in it.

I'll have to send Takashi an email when i'm closer to pulling the trigger. It'd be a deal breaker if the computer won't adjust. Maybe someone else will chime in.

There had to be a different float to indicate fuel level between the different size tanks unless the only difference is width.
