INSTALLED: Rox Pivoting Riser 2" rise x 7/8 stem clamp x 7/8 " handlebar

Greetings to you CB1100 aficianados,
Been a while since I last said peek-a-boo but here I am letting you know from Sudbury Ontario that my second season on this bike has been truly enjoyable. Not one issue to complain about. Find myself more often exploring and using the the 4 - 6 thousand rev range where the bike seems to wake up and want more. Recently installed these Rox Risers I was lucky enough to find locally. Two inches, I'm afraid can and does make a big difference much to my chagrin. It. was tricky installing these as there is a sequence to when you snug and and when you tighten. Here are some pics...BTW the seat is the K&H Low and the flyscreen is a Dart Marlin.

Looks great! Did the risers go on ok? No issues with the cables?

I was out on the bike all day and that 2" rise has me even more comfortable then I was. Seems I am able to turn my head and body easier for situational awareness. Opens up the cockpit and makes it easier to stand on the pegs or sit on the pillion to stretch the legs. As for the installation, let's just say that I was glad I didn't get the 51/2" pivoting risers. The cables are 'almost' maxed. Putting the bike on the center stand and turning the bars all the way to either side while it is running reveals no alteration in rpm. Clutch and brake are great as usual. The tricky part of the installation is the sequence of snugging and tightenning the four allen bolts of the base stem and the four allen bolts of the Rox handlebar stem. Because the cables don't give you much to work with you can't just sequentially tighten up the base and handlebar stem without over stretching the cables. You need to snug some bolts allowing the strcture to kind of callapse on itself while you tighten others. Sorry, best I can explain it. Next to my K&H low seat, this mod has been a game changer for me. BTW...the next time I have my head lamp off I think I can re-route some of those cables more effeciently.

Yep i like mine too. Still wish they were a little higher so i can really sit straight up but that would take a really large riser. They do however make a HUGE improvement in my riding posture and keeps stress off my arms and wrists vs the harder lean on the stock setup. And yeah the cables work but i wouldn't wanna push them much more.

I bought GenMar pull back risers because I am tall and like to ride sitting straight up. They raise the handlebars 1 inch up and 1 3/8ths back. They were easy to install. But they just leave enough slack in the cables and hoses.

If I have my tank bag full, it will sound the horn turning the bars to lock the bike. I seldom use the tank bag anymore, but learned to lock and unlock the bike with the ignition off to avoid any noisy embarrassment. Blush

I like the idea of the "up a bit and back a bit..." Do you have a model number for the Genmars? Where did you get them -- ebay, Amazon? If you don't mind, how much were they?

Thanks

Frank

As an update to the installation of the 2" Rox Risers. I ended up taking them off. I noted a subtle flex when staightening the bike up from the sidestand in those situations where the bike leans further over on the sidestand such as on gravel or uneven pavement.. I did enjoy that two inch rise but I think a beefier riser no more than 1.5 inches high would allow more play in the cables and allow for more adjustability backward for the angle of the bars. Having said that, when I returned to the stock bar setup I found myself thinking "this is pretty good just as it is."

I bought them on Amazon, but you buy them directly from GenMar.

The GenMar part number for their [url=http://www.genmarmfg.com/shop/universal-risers/x102-detail.html]universal risers is X102. They are US$110.
Just click on the link to see the details.
