The signal placement appears decent looking on the side boxes. The looks are not bad - almost like old-school police bike'ish.

Is the tail light "oscillating" too? It is surprising that an array of signalling LEDs draw so much current to dim the brake lights. I reckon the beeper is also drawing circuit current too? I wonder if a strategically valued capacitor at the tail circuit can suppress the brown-out?

G.O. that's the tail light that is fluctuating .. the ground for the beeper is connected to the hot wire of the brake light.. that hot wire acts as a ground until the brakes are applied.. so when you apply the brakes, the beeper stops beeping because it has lost its ground.. I'm not sure how it related to the tail light and its fluctuations.. some people buy kits to get oscillating attention grabbers.. mine was free !! .. haha .. I don't believe there are any fluctuations when the brake light comes on .. the directionals will still be flashing, of course.. I love that beeper interrupter when I use the brakes.. otherwise the beeping becomes too much .. like waiting at a stop light to make a turn.. chuckk j.

Ah, right, it was mentioned before. Well then, that is more to warn drivers.

Much more than 120 FPM.
Options are:
a. Ride it until CHP stops you
b. Add load resistors
c. Use incandescent

my choice will be "A" .. just ride it.. by the way, doc.. how were you able to count the f.p.m. .. an officer that counts my f.p.m. is the same kind of guy that makes you take down your fuzzy dice.. haha .. my biggest worry is getting caught speeding.. I ride the mountain roads mainly.. rarely I might run across a highway patrol or other law enforcement .. when I do, I usually find myself at their mercy.. twisty mountain roads and double yellow lines also can be an issue.. If you go up highway 33, past Ojai, during the week, the biggest concern are gravel and sand haulers over the double yellow line; but it is a great ride up to Lockwood Valley.

doc, it seems the gravel trucks aren't taking 33 anymore.. my worries are those hay trucks!! .. meeting them in one of the tunnels.. their load is so high, they have to straddle the center line when going through the tunnels.. our small riding group of old guys favor riding during the week rides, when most all of the other riders are working.. our shortest loop is to the fire station.. longer, 200 milers will take us to pine mountain club or lunch at the buckhorn in new cuyama .. I love hwy 33...... chuck j.

There are so many great canyon rides in SoCal!

Had a cabin in Pine Mountain Club, 76-79.
Keep 3 enduros in the basement.
My CB750F was a good commuter.
Only been stopped on a bike 4 times, all prior to 1979.
One was going up I5, just before the Gorman exit.

San Emigdio Creek starts on the upper north side of Mt. Pinos.
It is a good hike from the end of Woodland, past the waterfall, where the trail appears to end. The other end is a good hike down to the valley and back. It now goes through a wolf sanctuary.

From the top of Mt. Able (Cerro Noroeste) it is possible to coast all the way back down to Mil Portereo Highway.
