Removing stock rack on 2014

I bought a used 2014 standard recently and it came with a Honda luggage rack.
I’m thinking about removing it and I’m wondering if I need to get shorter bolts or will the longer bolts cause any issues.

I don’t think the bolts will be right. The rack comes with different bolts that replace the stock bolts that are also bungy tie downs. Here is the parts breakdown. Item 11 is the stock bolt. Says it is 8x42: https://www.partsfish.com/oemparts/a/hon...a41/seat-1

It's been a long time since I messed with last de-installing mine. But I'm guessing that you'll want to get the stock bolts to replaces the longer ones that were designed for use with the rack. (The stock bolts are Honda part number 90127-MCJ-750)
Drats, LP beat me to it. But I know how he does it. If this keeps up, one of these days I'm afraid that I'll need to initiate the remote self-destruct command for the CB1100 Forum Secret Decoder ring.
