Poking holes in a yoshi
#1

Who’s gone and taken the plunge and put holes in the yoshi full exhaust to extract a few more db’s out the system? I’m preparing to put about six or eight holes in mine but on the fence about the outcome. I love the look of the pipe but need a bit more sound. I’m not interested in the no baffle rattle can jangalang stuff. Only looking for minor increase.

Does the full exhaust/can have a removable baffle ?

My Yoshi RS3 slip on slip on came with a removable baffle and it was bit too quiet with baffle in and too loud with the baffle out. So I cut the baffle off 1/2 inch at a time until I like the sound which is still mellow at idle and only growls when on the pipe .

You can try cutting the baffle a "bit at a time" method and if you still don't like the sound beyond the point of no return, you can easily order a new baffle from Yoshi to go back to stock. Less invasive the punching holes

The full exhaust version is a 1 piece design. There’s no way to open it unless I actually cut it at the welds. This is where the idea of drilling comes in

Since you are going to drill, just an idea, why not drill 2 long holes (on left right) and put another 2 threaded holes (up and down) to lock a big round washer with holes, so to able to adjust the 2 long opening...that way you could close the opening fully or open fully.

My second Nighthawk 750 had a Yoshi can on it. I repacked it four times before I got it quiet enough and it was still too raucous. I had to be TailEnd Tommy 'cause no one wanted to ride behind me.
