And a bit careful. I love the quad lock system, and have use it for my iPhone for years. BUT - when I upgraded to the iPhone 11 Pro... things went badly. When mounted to the handlebar, the vibration from the bike (I'm on a 2013 CB1100) wrecked the camera focusing stabilizer motors on the new phones (iPhone 8 and newer). I ate through 3 phones in 2 weeks, running the camera each time (all covered by Apple, thankfully) before I found a solution I could live with.

Rubber bits on the bar first didn't help. Some add-on dampening set ups were way to bulky and ridiculous. So - I chose to get it off the bar altogether and created a mounting bracket that actually tied into the Speedo Cluster/Instuments - so that the quad lock mount is actually attached to the existing dampening rubber mounts that hold the instrument panel. Seems complicated, but actually simple (although a little work to install).

Just a warning. I can post pics if/when anyone is keen on it.

I have the quad lock and no vibe damper with the iPhone 12. No issues so far. Also as I have bar end mirrors I have no weights in the bars. All is fine so far.

Actually found this odd as I used to use the phone on my Harley.

You have a problem.
if there is a shock absorber; it is independent of the phone ... if you don't put it in, the internal stabilizing camera will break ... that's guaranteed. even by quad lock.

Okay ; installation finished with USB charger Quad Lock .. I have gone to the official Honda of my city; and they have installed an auxiliary connection (my model is cb1100 ex 2015 Europe); which is under the seat next to the battery (cable option 2 service manual). the cost of it; in addition to changing the DOT 4 hydraulic clutch fluid; It was € 43 ... I think it was worth it for them to do it.

And how about this idea ? You keep your 1500$ (i)phone at home, were it can't break. And you buy a perfectly fine, cheap 150$ Android phone for your CB. Mount it and don't worry about vibrations and all the rest. Quad processors, bright displays, and all the rest - the last generation is more than capable of running Google Maps and any other app and 3D gimmick at full speed, to your delight. End of worry.

And how about this idea ? You keep your 1500$ (i)phone at home, were it can't break. And you buy a perfectly fine, cheap 150$ Android phone for your CB. Mount it and don't worry about vibrations and all the rest. Quad processors, bright displays, and all the rest - the last generation is more than capable of running Google Maps and any other app and 3D gimmick at full speed, to your delight. End of worry.

Or...just stop worrying about it. It's just money. Oh..and maybe consider buying insurance for the phone. You may have it already under your home insurance, but you can also buy it from Apple.

I take your comment with a humorous tone; Let's see ... we have a € 14,000 motorcycle; a helmet of € 800 .. a Cardo intercom of € 250 (less some ..); and you're going to bring a € 100 phone potato ??. That one my 92-year-old father takes to talk ... seriously: with electrical tape you could tie that android to the mirror; but Android is, it has been and will be; a couple of steps below IPhone. But if he is happy .... go ahead !!!!!

Love this reply, perfectly reasonable as well. Guess if the camera does mess up I’ll get it repaired. If it happens again will consider a cheap android phone.

Alfaxgatico, why does one attach a phone to the bike in the first place? It's not just about price. Why would one attach a $2,000 phone knowing one was likely to damage or destroy it when the functionality required is available on something more robust? Do we really need more of that sort of waste?

And ... I suspect saying Android is "... a couple of steps below iPhone ..." may be the telephonic equivalent to starting an oil thread.

At times I use an older "slave" phone wirelessly tethered to my daily phone as my handlebar device where I don't care about the camera. The camera still works, but I don't use it nor care. The slave phone is also weatherproof.
