Mounting a garage door remote
#1

I replaced my garage door opener over the weekend, and have a new remote that seems to be a little more heat sensitive than my last one.

Previously, I velcroed the remote under the tank on the right side just behind the engine, up against the black plastic side cover. The remote for my complex gate is under the tank on the other side. I like them under there since they are out of view but can easily be found reaching under the tank. The new remote works when I leave in the morning and the engine isn't hot, but doesn't want to work when I get home and the engine is hot. My last remote wasn't as sensitive.

Just wondering if anyone has mounted a remote on their CB, where did you put it?

If I take my remote with me, I keep it in my pocket...with easy access when moto trip is completed.

I've looked into this from time to time and so far have always come to the conclusion that the it's not worth the time/expense for me to have one mounted. I believe that I'm going to by a key fob type opener and keep Velcro it to the inside of the jacket.

I've seen videos of guys implanting chips into their hand or forearm for this purpose, but I'm skeptical.

... isn't there an app for garage door openers by now? (i.e. Bluetooth-to-interface-to-garage door controller circuit). It is probably wirelessly more secure too.

Yes, I've got an app on my phone, which is very handy. But it's more handy to roll up the street and tap a button without stopping, rather than stopping, pulling out my phone, etc. And I swap jackets day-to-day depending on the weather, but I could go that route I suppose.

Using your Bluetooth helmet communciator:

" ... Alexa, err, um, ... I mean ... 'Precious' ... please open my garage door ... "

" ... Doh! Not the house door - dang! ... "

The new opener will talk to Alexa, but we don't have one of those... yet.

I have mine on my phone. Its bluetooth and with touch sensitive gloves I can pull up my app and hit the open button. The app is myQ. My phone is mounted on my handlebars with a Ram Mount.
