Thank you, It actually looks like it would be beneficial to upgrade my stock H4 bulb while I'm at it then too to that silverstar they mentioned for 10$. If daymakers offer still stands i may send them my spare headlight bucket to design a custom one for our model.

I have a puig windscreen now that would fit better with those Dart side brackets.

Wonder if Dart will sell just the brackets or if someone has a set they don't need and are willing to sell.

Hi mvk24,
yes, they do sell you whatever you want - separately.
As far as I see, right now they seem to have some limited business, maybe they have shipping problems...
I bought spare parts separately, they sold it to me. Just write them, Annette from Dart will get in touch with you.
Ciao

You already have the connector available there in the headlight bucket for that exact purpose. Other members bought the female connector to fit that "option" connector (there is a tread somewhere in this forum). This is is the supply power to your spot lights.
The headlight wire is required to power the switch side of the relay. - You do not want to leave the spot light "ON" by mistake and also to be legal with the law. - No spot light when on high beam.

This switch is also available without the M10 port.

Switch mounted to "Clutch Reservoir" clamp. (neat)

Hey reviving old post, so you have a link for that switch you got that becomes part of the clutch reservoir clamp?

Think I'm gonna change the auxilary lights I have and while I'm wiring them up to my existing harness I made for the previous lights I think I will add in that switch.

I have had them wired directly to the auxilary plug inside the bucket for the heated grip option so my light turn on and off with the ignition as of now. Might be interesting to use that switch you have for the next go round though.

*** also does anyone know how many watts/amps the factory auxilary plug is rated for inside the headlight bucket? Wanna go brighter if possible but not sure how high i can go in the rating of the lights.

The 2 aux connectors are powered from fuse F which is the 10 amp Meter, illumi on the wiring diagram. illumi is illumination.

Following the output of fuse F, it goes to the Tail/Brake light and to a distribution block. The block for this line has 3 outputs. One goes to the headlight shell option plug, another to the other option connector and the last to the meter.

This from the diagram for the 2014.

So if I am understanding correctly 10amps x 12V system should mean that auxilary plug can handle up to 120watts?

I'd probably go with like 2 45w lights at this point but I just wanna make sure the system/auxilary plug I'm using in the bucket can handle it.

I think I only have 25w lights or something on there now. I would want to go brighter when I upgrade the lights/mounts

Total circuit current, in theory, would be 120 watts. But you don’t want to run a circuit at the circuit breaker rated amps. In any case, the tail light is 5 watts when the ignition is on and 21 watts when the brake light is on.

So, 120 minus 21, minus the amount the meter consumes. I don’t know how much the meter uses. I could easily find out on my 2013, but your bike (2014 and up) has a serial data buss that communicates with the ECU. That means there is a data transmitter/receiver. I doubt that will consume much, but will use some power.

Also, when the bike is running, the voltage is 13-14.5 roughly so take that into consideration.
A few quick calculations show you only would have around 7-8 amps to play with. If you run the breaker with no overhead it may (will) get hot and trip.

The accessory connectors are not really for loads that pull any real current and I would be leary of using them for lighting like you want.

Okay great info thank you.

I've been running driving/fog lights that are 40w i believe total off that plug originally intended for the heated grips for awhile now.

The bracket on these cheap lights is stripped out when I was just making adjustments so i wanna just swap out to better lights now but ill cut and splice into the same harness I made/have been using off that plug in the headlight bucket.

The aux connectors were not for the Honda OEM heated grips. The instructions show them picking power from somewhere else. Can’t remember where. I don’t have them, but the instructions are on-line.

Yes, some people have used the aux conn. for heated grips. I would not advise it.

Max and PB, feel free to jump in here…

Huh interesting I thought that plug in the bucket was for the soul purpose of the factory heated grips

Actually there were never any known Honda accessories for it.

I have an SAE connector and battery monitor on mine and can pull that and run a GPS or phone on it.

For a battery tender most of us have added the plug directly to the battery.
