Have you checked your hazard slide switch on the right handlebar ( with the little triangle above it ) ? maybe try switching it several times and see if it works the same every time, i doubt if it is a connection between the left and right channel, if that happened it would work both left and right i think they are all wired separately because of the need to light up the front set all the time, if the right hand switch works as expected you could be the first to report a faulty flasher unit or a faulty indicator switch somehow, those are the only parts that can cause this particular( directional ) fault, did you have any thing connected to the battery that went wrong?

Max, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, I've had this bike for 5 years, I don't ride it much, but I never knew I had flashers....till now, I knew it had to be something simple, all is well now, again thank you!

Apparently there aren’t hazards in Australia so Honda didn’t need to fit that extra switch here.

...just to add to the "learned something new" spice: here in Hungary drivers use hazard lights as a "thank you" or "sorry" note. Bikers use it whenever they do lane splitting or just filtering through. At first it drove me crazy to see someone cutting in and then turning on the hazard lights - my initial thoughts were "OMG, this moron just cut me, and now will stop right there..."
