I use a Harbor Freight balancer too, but I don't balance them with the wheel spacers in place, I go right up against the bearings. I find the wheel bearings have less friction than the balancer bearings. That's on newer wheels, with fresher grease.

Good idea, I was strong arming those cones against the collars to make a tight fit... didnt even cross my mind that they wouldn't affect the balance
