Thanks for the report. The 17 tooth may give you a bump out of the hole but a think you'll find your overall acceleration drop a bit with the shorter gears. The only way to tell would have been to time your 0-60 and 0-100 times with both gearing. I have attached a link which shows 50-100 times being slower with lower gears. The tach spins up fast but times are slower.

I'm thinking of going the other direction to see the performance difference.
