What is the Correct Chain Size for a 2014 Model?

Do you have a chain busting and staking tool?

How many miles are on your bike?

I plan on ordering a chain tool. I saw a good reference to that in the forum.

I have 20,000 miles on it. I'm supposed to take an extended trip this coming weekend but I discovered an issue that seems to be coming from the chain. This weekend I did a short ride in the rain to test some new rain gear and I didn't think to lube it after. I normally don't ride in the rain if I can help it. After a 250+ mile ride the next day I noticed when I was close to home that there was a spot in the chain that had a lot of rolling resistance. You could feel the bike slow down in a pulsing kind of way when coasting. I put the bike on the center stand and rolled the rear wheel and you can feel that when a certain part of the chain rolls over the front sprocket it takes a noticeable increase in force to keep the wheel rolling. Then it frees up after that point.

I have recently replaced both sprockets so it probably is a good time to replace the chain even if a good cleaning could fix the "stickyness" I'm experiencing. I dropped a tooth on the front sprocket and the rear got replaced as part of a wheel upgrade.

I have read quite a few forum posts about chains and it sounds like mine is going based on what I have read.

If I'm not confident about getting the correct new chain before the weekend I'm going to take the current one off and do a thorough cleaning. I just don't like the idea of being a few hundred miles from home if it may be going bad.
