I have a 09 STR matte orange and I go by lola on triumph675 on there too and remember when you lost you're Dad...

power wise compared to the STR the CB1100 is not far off straight line wise. The Torque on the CB1100 will keep up in first and second gear then you will see the STR pull through 3rd and so on. Personally I do not feel that the cb1100 lacks power compared to Street tripe R and I have both. One thing you will notice is weight between the two and the CB1100 is at least 110lbs more than the STR...
I have a 2013 cb1100 but If I had a choice again I would have picked up a DLX... Why? Six gear, bigger tank and those beautiful dual pipes... plus I commute more on the cb1100 and a sixed gear would come in handy for me.
