From the start, and there have been several members who wanted to use a non-standard meter. as far as I can tell, no one has been successful. The meter and ECM circuitry is proprietary, and no info outside Japan is available. Unfortunately, no one knows what the circuit logic is, whether it's the same as any other meter.
Meter assemblies are different for the different years and models, and markets. While the RS and EX look the same externally, they may not interchange because of the different tire diameters, and thus the speeds won't indicate precisely.
In the past, I have collected and been able to repair CB1100 meter assemblies for others, and I wonder how far gone yours is. Are there any salvageable parts? What parts/pieces do you need? Can you send pics?
(I am actually looking for a meter sub-harness, with the 3 connector blocks. If you or anyone out there has one for sale, please send me a PM. I will post this in the wanted section)
