A visit in Massif Central, France

Wonderful photos, Delphisa. I love the stone house--it would be interesting to know when it was built. It looks like it will last longer than earth itself.

This house has been completely rebuilt a few years ago. Originally, it had been built in 19th century or maybe before; it was used as a mountain pasture farm, until 1914. Then it had been abandoned, and went to ruin. Only walls were still visible at end of 20th century. Entirely reassembled when renovation, the walls are made of granite and basalt, masonry in dry stone laid with sharp joint. These walls are not isolated, but, made up of two stone sidings, they nevertheless have a good insulation. I remember I had seen on internet some pictures of the ruins, before reconstruction, but now I can't find them anymore.
