Miles include 200+ on Independence Day with friends on their Ultra Glide.

Light jacket weather in the morning, but strapped it over the fender case before we left Albuquerque, even going to 7,000+ feet elevation.

Frozen water bottle, wrapped in a towel, in fender case, still had ice when we stopped for lunch at Mustang Diner in Mountainair.

It was a good ride.
Got up to 100F that day, but we were back by 3 PM
Disappointed that Mustang Diner did not have pie!

Looks like a great time! When I visit the family in your neck of the woods, I imagine all of the places to ride. Hope I'll get to someday!

Highways east of the Manzano Mountains are enjoyable, especially the northern part on 337, but it is a choice of interstate or desert to get there, as it is in southern Nevada.

Both fuel stops (Albuquerque & Mountainair) were better than 66 MPG, probably due to lower speeds and altitude.

Couple days later I made a high speed (85-95) run on the interstate to help two grandsons with separate projects. Only 42 MPG.

Although no attraction to Las Vegas, NV, I do miss going to Corn Creek Springs (22 miles) or Mt Charleston (30 miles) to hike (well, at my age, more of a stroll).
