to puig or not to puig (or, which Puig screens fit ?)

Careful on the Puig. I am not sure which one I have, but it has rods that go from the shield to the brackets on the handlebars and the brackets are just barely long enough. They can only be fit one way, so leave you no room for error. So far, have had no problems, but I'd like to have another inch on those rods, just in case.
As far as protection goes, the wind still beats me to death, so I'm not sure it is doing much.

Would it be very easy to replace the rods ? Don’t wonna be the smart Alec, but could a long rod, bare Aluminum, cut to your desire not solve the problem?
