Torque settings (oil change)

The factory service manual says 30 Nm or 22 ft lb for the drain plug and 18 Nm or 13 ft lb. I always use a fresh crush washer and just snug the drain plug. I hand tighten the filter. Run the engine to normal temp and check for leaks. Never a leak in over 40 years of doing it this way.

No mention in the manual for the engine being hot or cold but would be reasonable to assume that the engine would be warm since the oil should be drained when still hot.

I use the same dirt cheap filter wrench that I got at the discount store years ago for my Honda Civic.
