If I a few years there is a £20 download and a couple of cables I can use to 'reflash' my own ECU then I might look into it. As is, I just love the bike so much how Honda built it that I'm not anywhere close to cocking things up on the off chance of a notional extra 30mph on the top end. Just doesn't compute in my head.
Buying this bike and being disappointed is kind of self inflicted pain.
There are many bikes for less money that will burn it off. I didn't want one of those, I wanted my perfect, flawed Dixie.
As they say, to each his own.
As they say, to each his own.
No, I'm totally with you on that one mate. Really I think having crazy Jap laws slip through to our free(er) lands is cuss.
However, I think the usefulness to me on this bike going over 112 mph is so negligible that I'm not going to lose any sleep over it. He'll I've had company cars that go faster for the last 20 years! All of them!
When I was 24 I was smokin round in a BMW M3 EVO, 321 bhp. Back then my bikes had to be better than the car, so I sucked in a strict diet of Gixxers and FJ's to accommodate.
I'm past all that, so I don't see 112 as a repression, more or a safety valve.
As you so rightly say, each to their own, and I respect men who push things forward, all power to you.
I hope we get this thing doing 150, then I'll buy the upgrade, keep schtum, and enjoy my Sunday 148 jaunts.
