That's why I stick with the OEMs. Both my CB750 and CB11 use the same filter. I've got the cap tool that fits over the end for removal and installation (which works perfect for the CB750 as the filter comes out between the two middle header pipes). When I tried out other filters, the cap wrench didn't fit them and removal was a lot more difficult on the 750.
While my local dealer is quite proud of these filters (to the tune of around $20) I keep an eye on the Internet and order by the case when someone has them on sale. Last batch were about $8.25 each delivered.
