Thanks for all the information, mvk24. I think the Honda manual recommends 10W-40 for warmer weather riding. Like you I’ve been unhappy with the Honda GN4; I find it makes the gearbox very clunky when hot.

You may like to note that we have had 4 or 5 reports of the K&N oil filters failing at the nut. I witnessed one of them. It was not good. In all cases people were lucky to escape a nasty off or damage to their engine.
