After looking at it more closely, it seems that the brackets may not be aligned properly. The lower mount attachments are situated at the top of the forks. I tried to get the upper handlebar mounting brackets as similarly aligned as possible, but there is a slight variation due to cabling.
I think you can see from these pics that the ball-end connector is coming in at an angle. I'm guessing I need to remedy that.

Yeah MAN! I've the same sheild . Try mounting the lower brackets lower. It's not gonna lean way back, but itll work.
My install has worked well for 3 plus years. Just a little shimmy at 70 plus.
