I appreciate your input on the NC screen and MRA deflector. Yeah, I think that combo doesn't quite match the cool aesthetics of the CB, but I'd be willing to sacrifice that if it worked, at least while on road trips.
I realize that windscreens are a crap shoot. I think I went through 4 screens on my Tiger 800 XC before finally finding one (with a deflector) that I could tolerate. And I know I'm spoiled by the electronically adjustable screen on my RT. I don't expect that type of protection. Just something to reduce wind fatigue and maybe even weather exposure on 200 - 400 mile day.

Your results will be different, but in my experience, if you want a quiet ride, either eliminate the screen altogether and go naked, or find a bike with a touring-length windscreen (Gold Wing, RT, etc.), ideally electronically adjustable. Anything halfway will only cause buffeting. Again, my experience and opinion only. I sincerely hope your results are different.
