Oh yeah, no issues at all getting to the oil filter. Same clearance as before. Wanted to ensure that in repurposing the stock header that it retained the usability and functionality, while also looking mostly OEM. Thumbs Up

I'll take some closer pics of the exhaust and post them as well. The fabricator/builder is absolutely outstanding, and his welds are works of art in themselves. While he was working on my bike, he just finished a KZ for a client and that bike was just recently in PipeBurn. He also finished a CB750 which was exceptional as well. I got a pic of them together I will also share.

Mvk24 - I had the fenders powdercoated by a company here in VA, ASCO. I've used them a lot over the years for tons of motorcycle parts and several sets of wheels for my car and truck. I did rattle can the taillight housing myself though since it is metal over a plastic frame and couldn't be PC'd. I sanded, scotchbrited, wiped it with degreaser, washed, then dried it thoroughly. Then used several coats of etching primer and gloss black. Finished it off with two coats of clear and hand buffed it out. It came out pretty good, I guess my OCD pays off at times haha

Oh and yeah, the rear fender is a bit of a pain. The taillight wire snakes through the fender, its very clean but disassembly and reassembly is a little time consuming.
Haha nice! I'm the same way it i do it i have to go through the entire process to do it the right way so I wanted to avoid paint.

I just did the vinyl wrap to the headlight brackets and it came out looking like the factory did it. Theyre pretty simple and flat thought.

I did a carbon vinyl wrap to my KZ440 tank on the third rebuild and that was a whole different story.. again because I'm anal and had to get every single wrinkle out. That took about 2 days and 2 attempts each because my buddy melted the wrap on me halfway through the tank lmao

Oh no! I feel your pain...that is so frustrating! Its not easy work, it tedious. I picked up a roll of matte wrap to do the hood scoop on my Tacoma and botched it like 3x with wrinkles. Its a painstaking process for sure...hell the powdercoating was easy in comparison! But me being me, I also purchased an extra front and rear fender assembly off ebay and left it chrome. Just in case I sell it, I'll swap the fenders or sell them separately.

I also tried installing the Lamin-X yellow film on the Tacoma's foglights and after spending hours getting them smooth and perfect over the curved surface, when they dried they crinkled up like bacon. I almost threw them in the woods haha Thankfully the Lamin-X was easier to apply to the CB (yellow) and Superduke (smoke).

Lamin-X is pretty high quality stuff, if you're curious or interested in the film I would recommend their product. I like that is not only looks pretty cool, but it also increases visibility (especially the yellow) and it also provides some film protection for the headlight from pitting, stones, etc.

They actually dont have one specific for the CB, but I knew the headlight was the same size as my Thruxton, so I ordered two (in case I messed up). It fit perfectly, and I gave the other one to my buddy who has an R Nine-T racer and it looks really great on his bike with the BMW livery. Looks like they have yellow, blue, orange, green, purple, smoke, gray, etc.

Oh yeah, no issues at all getting to the oil filter. Same clearance as before. Wanted to ensure that in repurposing the stock header that it retained the usability and functionality, while also looking mostly OEM. [Image: 8b6ed44286f10553988ae57cdf886151.png]

Never heard of the lamin X? I have seen the film for our bikes headlight though. I think there is a smoke, yellow, and blue film protective films.

I saw clear films for the gauges and cluster also

Thanks PowerDubs!

Sorry if this has been covered before but, why did the rearsets need to be modified to fit the CB? were they made for another bike originally or?

I dig the new exhaust Thumbs Up

Thanks E11even,

The Sato Racing rearsets were made for the CB and are of very high quality, however they are designed to mount to the stock, trapezoidal shaped footpeg/passenger peg brackets. You don't have to modify them, but I wanted to tuck the new exhaust as tightly as possible to the bike, which meant the brackets had to go.

It was an easy choice for me; those brackets are pretty bulky, and I didn't like how that bump out looked from the front or back, and wanted it cleaner and more streamlined, and for the exhaust to follow the lines of the frame. The fabricator was able to mount the left side rearset with no plates at all (bolted directly to the frame) and the right side required a small bracket to be fabricated to mount the rear brake master cylinder.

You can see in the pic from the front that the exhaust hugs the bike closer than stock.
