Any idea if the dealership adjusts/installs the speedometer during setup? I purchased a “new” ‘14 Std 450 miles ago and the allen head screws underneath the speedometer case was loose and rattling today.

Having watched several video's about assembly of Honda bikes i would suspect that this happened when the tach/speedo is assembled and put as a batch in boxes before shipped to the assembly plant, Kumamoto in our case i think.
these parts get assembled in clusters and finally put together on the line.
The dealer gets to do very little, remove the packaging and plastic protection, fill with fuel and maybe check the oil level.
All bikes have a short engine and gearbox run on the rollers and lights checked in the factory prior to being packaged up for storage and distribution to their depots, so all fluids are in the bike
, maybe they remove the fuel or most of it before shipping for safety.
So i doubt if the dealer has any part in checking loose bolts etc. other than mirrors and such and the good part about that is they now cannot forget to tighten any bits or forget anything!
go have a look at some unboxing and Honda plant video's.
Good find on the allen bolt though, well spotted!
