Hi all - very happy new owner of a NOS 2014 CB1100 (black with alloy wheels).
1. Are fuel tanks interchangeable across the years (e.g., 2013/2014 and 2017)?
2. I've searched the forum, but can't find a string which answers the following:
- What is the difference between the A vs SA vs CA vs NA?
- My 2014 is not a Deluxe, I've heard it referred to as a 'Standard' and as an 'EX.' The CB1100 has a standard seating position - is 'standard' also a sub-model in the CB1100 line?
3. Besides ABS, seat design, and color, what are the differences between the 2014 EX and Deluxe models (include Standard into this question if that is in fact another sub-model).
Please excuse the noob nature of the question. Thanks in advance for all the constructive information!

differences between the 2014 EX and Deluxe
overthere you get only the DLX it has no spokes.......and the big diffrent to the standard by side from the tank are doublewall 4in2 exhaust and the much more confortable saddle
the 2017 EX has a bit the smaller tank than the DLX but the better suspensions...

This thread
http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=5430 might help with the differences between the 2014 standard and DLX models.
Your 2014 is not an EX. The 2014 EX was the European equivalent of the US DLX.
A is the standard
SA is the 2014 DLX
CA is the 2017 EX
NA is the 2017 RS
Have a meander through the History sub section of the forum,

I’m sure people have swapped fuel tanks without problems, except I’ve a recollection some swaps may require different fittings to deal with different fuel pump pressures.
I suggest using Google to search the forum. Type “site:http://cb1100forum.com” and then your search terms.

Hi there,
in case you didn't get a sufficient answer ...
I crowded my dealer with the same question until he pulled all the drawings and parts lists out, and yes, he confirmed that (with 99% probability) all tanks are interchangeable. You may have to change the bench at the same time.
Hope this helps

And a Beautiful seamless gas tank goes with the EX.

Many thanks for the detailed and informative replies. Looks like a tank upgrade to MY2017 spec is cost-prohibitive, taking into account the other parts which need to be changed with the tank (different fuel pump, etc.). I am assuming the DLX tank is a more direct fit.
