Love having the GPS on the bike. I use a RAM mount system with a ZUMO 550, older but still woks.
Really like your install, quite clean and tidy.
I use the GPs on all my pleasure rides - tells me if the next road is a long one or a short residential one. Simple matter to snap out of mount and put it in my pocket when away from bike. Had a tourateck locking mount on my previous bike, expensive and I didn't really trust it so I usually removed gps anyway.

I use a GPS app in my phone on the rare occasions I need one. My phone is in a Lifeproof case. Lifeproof also makes a handlebar mount for phones which snaps on and off in a matter of seconds. It's brilliant.

Here is, how I mounted my Garmin Zumo 660 to the handlebar of my CB1100.

GPS in action looks like this:

For my purpose I removed the middle part of the 3-part-mount, to get the socket close to the handlebar. At this picture the Garmin itself is unmounted from the covered socket:



The Zumo 660 comes with a socket and a cable for installation. From behind you can see, how I screwed the socket directly to the plate of the mount:



I'm quiet satisfied with this solution. The GPS is centered within the other controls and I don't have to look much around to find all information on a short glance, not too much distracted from traffic around.

Only thing, which could be better: the plate is a little bit to wide, it could close edge-to-edge with the socket.

The piece for the CB1100 is named 22ST1 and is the same as pictured on the CB1300


When I google that piece, there are a lot of European shops that sell the part.

nice unit, how did you tap in to the CB's power for it?
I've always wanted one of those but in reality, I tend to do mostly 60 to 90 minute rides around local back roads, does not really matter if I know where I'm going, I'll turn up somewhere on a road I know :-)

I run the cable from the GPS device in parallel to the main cable thru the frame under the fueltank. The cable bundles power supply, audio, mic and input for traffic info receiver.



The power cable I connected under the seat under the toolbox at the fuse case. The minus is connected directly to the battery, the plus is crimped to the cable from fuse 3 (brake light). So it is switched by ignition.

Also under the seat are the ends of Zumo audio, micro and traffic info receiver input, which I don't use.



When I use the audio output of the Zumo, I just let the audio cable hang out left of the seat and plug in the connector of my inear headset. The cable of the headset I run from the neck under my jacket. Just have to be aware, that I'm connected, when I get off the bike.

I could also use a wifi headset, which is also supported by theZumo 660. However, I don't like to care about empty batterie packs in the headset and also the sound quality of an inear cable headset is much better.

When I go out here in my home area, I also don't use the Garmin most of the time. But when I do tours, like end of this March for a week in Spain, it is really valuable help to plan the tour at home or in the hotel at the PC, download it to the device and then just follow the tour at your bike.
