New Model Year CB1100's??

I'm thinking there are many metrics there also. The CB is few and far between, I think anyway, and it is so crowded that there could be twenty one there and you might not see them.
That's my theory and I'm sticking to it because my bucket list includes these annual bike gatherings including Sturgis, without trailering, and I do remember seeing many metrics in the youtube videos of the streets in both Daytona and Sturgis, although the focus of many videos might be the U.S. built cruisers and baggers for some reason. I suppose there are two reasonable reasons for youtube videos on these gatherings tend to focus on Harleys and customs and Victorys. One, there are simply more of them than us because the metric owners are not driven by the need to trailer their chrome beasts to a town lose to the destination and ride in like they do this everyday and then park that overweight bike on the side of mainstreet and watch others do the same. two: when you spend that much money on a bike, chrome, trailer, gas and leathers the you might be more inclinded to document the visit with a Youtube video that substantiates the effort by it's creation and views. Which is likely what I will do since Ihave already bought the Go-Pro and a Black Bike with Chrome, required or at least preferred for such gatherings.

Omg, all Harleys? Not by a long shot. It's a blast. Sorry you're missing it

Sounds like a year ago when we were having the "Is the CB1100 going to be a single year model?" threads. They announced the 2014 the day after I bought my 2013. Clearly they're waiting on me so they can announce the 2015!
I too wish it had a kick starter for that authentic retro vibe. The CBR1000RR I acquired is fast, but it has no personality. The CB is genuinely more fun to ride.

I checked Craigslist for New England tonite. '13 CB's here and there leftover. Couple used. The FZ09 took some sales away from some mid lifers but it surely is not as relaxing to ride and I don't enjoy fighting the speed limit all the time.

Not anymore... there's ALOT of sport bikes now and quite a few big Hondas and others.

Honda powersports just made a bunch of announcements for 2016 (at http://www.honda.com/newsandviews/press-...wersports) so it looks like they are done making announcements for 2015 and so there won't be a 2015 CB1100.

This feels a little bit like when Ducati stopped making the Sport Classics. Hopefully the same kind of demand will grow post production.

My 14 in black is just what I wanted. So I don't care if they change colors. I do hope they continue to produce later model years so that the aftermarket continues to thrive. I always seem to buy niche bikes with terrible aftermarket support. While the VFR I owned previously had many model years, the aftermarket was never there. Sure the CB has a good aftermarket of parts, but they all come from Japan. Domestic parts would be great.
There was obviously a lull in sales over the winter, and we have seen an increase in new bikes right here in the forum. If we can empty the dealers by fall then we might see some '16s |
