09 CB900 Hornet handlebars
#1

So Ive been keeping my eye out in the local FB marketplace for some Honda handlebar weights as mine were missing when I bought the bike.
Some CB900 Hornet bars and weights came up for $50 so I grabbed them and decided to put the bars on my bike. They are a bit lower, narrower and angled differently. The center serations line up as well which is good.
Took it for a test ride and Im happy with the position, seems to corner better.

Does this modification reduce vibration? I have experienced a slight vibration at about 5k - 6k revs.

Welcome Suezooki. Good to have another New Zealander.

When you have a moment, pop over to the New Members section and introduce yourself.

I think the internal and external weights do reduce or even eliminate any buzz through the handlebars in my case, but I also have grip pupies as well. I notice the buzz through the seat more than anything at 5-6k

Looks good.

If I were going for a 'sport' style on the bike - those look to work well.

I like them. I'd really like to see them in person to see if that would be something I might like to do. You really can't go wrong for that price though. You wouldn't have lost much if you didn't like them.

Looking good ozigoo, they are identical ( low type ) to my cb1100 which was imported from Japan.
I actually did the same thing on my 900 hornet, which had a set of bars that i could not get used to and replaced them with a cb1300 set, what a difference, all is well now and identical to the cb1100 feel.

One thing has crept in over time and that is where the bowden cables meet the lower headlight support, because of the way they were routed they started to kink a bit and chafed the outer protective sheath away on the sharp edge of the horizontal member of the frame.
Just recently noticed that and the only way to stop that is to rotate ( torque bend ) the captive support that guides the throttle cables counter clockwise 90 degrees with a crescent and a big screwdriver for a lever in the handle so it is out of the way of the throttle cables and they can now find their own relaxed position without being held captive in that eyelet.

Other riders may have that situation as well, maybe have a look, i had no idea it was happening for 3 years until i noticed the chafing at the bottom of the cables, it's not something you would check ( or expect ) normally.
