Installed the Backoff XP module for the brake light today. I wasn't sure if it would work effectively but I like the result.
The CB1100 has a standard incandescent 1157 which I've retained.
What I've noticed that's good about the 5-flash pattern is that it is slower than the Motodynamics taillight I've got on another bike. The additional time for pulses allows the brakelight to get up to full illumination.
If I just flash it quickly a couple of times using the brake lever it doesn't get as bright. My other bikes have LED taillights so the manual quick-flash works well, but I think the CB1100 benefited from this little mod.
Gonna see if there is an LED taillight that is brighter; the ones I tried a couple of years ago were lame and only diffused light in one direction.
I think it was about 50 bucks, well-made, easy to install. Green/Yellow wire is the brakelight.
