I will try this because my 13CB1000 is even "clunkier" than my 78CB750. The one thing I can not figure out is; at times I am stopping without down shifting, and the trans gets lost between some gear and I have a heck of a time getting it to downshift out of the "twilight gear" zone. If i let out the clutch a little it will really clunk and then I can finish shifting it to 1st or it just remains in the no gear ( not netural) and I have to keep stepping on the shifter. I want to try up shifting it sometime when it does it but it always seems like I am in traffic and my brain just want to get it going.

I haven't noticed problem with shifting, but when taking off from a dead stop, I can feel the chain clunking and it's noticeably noisier.
I've vowed to pick up some travel sized cans of Chainsaver in the future. One less thing to worry about when on the road.
I used a wax based lube on the X chain on the 2012 Bonneville...when I finally lubed it a 6,000 miles. It had no issues at 6,000 miles, but since I washed it, I lubed it.
For the last two Yamaha dual sports, PJ1 every 300 miles. That can is almost empty and I have in stock Dupont Chain-Saver Wax-Based Chain Lube.
It is much cheaper than a new O-ring chain, so I will probably lube it every ~500 miles.
