Fun numbers to play with
#1
Was just over at cycleergo.com playing with the numbers comparing my 76 K my 2000 CB Nighthawk and the CB 1100

With regards to lean to the bars (smaller number LESS forward lean)

The K was 2 degrees Nighthawk 12 degrees and CB11 12 degrees

So about the same forward lean as the Nighthawk but much further than the K

With regards to knee angle ( smaller number knees MORE bent)

The K was 96 degrees the Nighthawk 91 degrees and the CB11 78 degrees

Wow those pegs are back there

Now, with regard to hip angle (smaller number means you are in more of a crouch)

The K was 97 degrees the Nighthawk 77 degrees and the CB 11 81 degrees

I found it interesting that I am crouching less on the CB 11 than I was on the 750 Nighthawk. I would have sworn it was the other way around.

At any rate it appears we are in a much racier position on the CB 11 than on the original K , but only slightly more racy when compared to the 750 Nighthawk. Footpeg placement seems to be the big bugaboo.

Oh well, fun to play with

When I first sat on the CB I thought it felt darn good. Plenty of room, good comfortable reach, better than the Griso. Added lowered pegs to the Griso as well as handlebar extensions so she is fairly well sorted (seat still sucks) so now the CB feels like a lean forward a tad too much (windscreen brought this out perhaps?) and the seat; while comfortable, needs to be higher.

Funny how things/perceptions change over time.

That's the only significant difference I notice when I get off my Nighthawk and get on my CB11, but (thankfully) it doesn't really bother me. Other than the footpeg placement, the two are very similar in riding position, as your numbers show.
