Early Thursday evening, we will take the CB1100 Community Forum offline to complete a full backup of the server and database. Early Friday morning, we will begin the data import into our new Forum.
Although I asked you to plan for up to five days of downtime (the worst-case project manager in me talking), there is reason for cautious optimism.
What to Expect Over the Weekend
Check in starting Saturday afternoon: If you still see the Maintenance Notice, we are still at work.
If you see the new Forum Header: We are open for business! Come on in, look around, start testing threads, and make some new posts. Please load some graphics, too. The larger the better.
Spot an issue: Cormanus will provide instructions on where to document anything broken so we can resolve it and share updates with everyone.
A True Lifesaver: Mostafa has kindly accepted my invitation to assist. We are blessed to have such a great developer helping with all Forum-related matters. If you or your company ever need a talented developer with serious database skills, Mostafa should be at the top of your list. You can reach him via forum messaging. In addition to his technical skills, he is a good man with a great sense of humor. Thank goodness he has not blacklisted me yet.
Logging In for the First Time
Thank you for being such a supportive crew. I hope I do not test the limits of your patience. See you on the other side. David

Logging In for the First Time
- Existing Username & Password: For most of you, your existing username and password will work just as they always have. When you log in, the system will automatically upgrade your account security behind the scenes.
- Log In Fresh: Any old "Remember Me" sessions will be expired, so everyone will start logged out for their first visit. Think of it as your first day in the Land of Cormanus.
- If Your Password Doesn't Work: Legacy password formatting can occasionally cause an issue. If you run into trouble, simply click the "Lost your password?" link on the login screen. XenForo will email a reset link to the email address on file for your account.
- Your History is Safe: Your post counts, join dates, avatars, signatures, and private message histories (now called Conversations) will all be waiting for you. Mostafa and I have a plan to migrate the "Like" counts, too.
Thank you for being such a supportive crew. I hope I do not test the limits of your patience. See you on the other side. David
