Vermin in the air filter!

So, got home and decided to check my air cleaner since my bike sat in a garage a while until I bought it.

Removed both air cleaner covers but didn’t see a way to access the filter. I’m sure I missed something and didn’t have time to check the manual which I’m sure will explain how to get to it.

It should be pretty straightforward. Remove the right side cover. Under that is a black plastic airbox cover with three screws on the corners. Remove the screws and the cover, you should be looking right at the cylindrical filter.

You may have to push part of the wire harness out of the way to get the one screw out and the lid off. I did.

I was replacing one of the black trim pieces ahead of the side panels that had a slight scuff mark. Since the parts list calls them “air cleaner covers”, figured there would be air cleaner access under them. Didn’t think to pop off one of the painted side covers but will do so. Swapped the black black piece a few minutes before I had to get to the airport, so no time to get the manual out and figured I’d deal with it when I got back home.

No mice in my garage, but now that it’s summer, maybe lizards.
