Looking at the exaggerated slant of the gas tank makes me wonder where the fuel pump pickup is. If it's at the back, lots of fuel will be unreachable down in front. If at the front, which side of the tanks saddle? Either left or right would leave the other unreachable.
My Tiger 1200 had a bit of an odd shaped tank but there was a balancing pipe between the two halves to make sure it was evened out, maybe these do too?

The ol' 1986+ Yamaha Viragos (750/1000/1100 cc) had the teardrop tank drain into a smaller box-like tank below the saddle and the fuel pump took out of that. There was never a fuel access problem with that design.
