I love the idea, Triumph. A 400 scrambler that is priced decently.

Likely I'm being too picky, but there's something just a little off visually about the look from the side. Is the tank bulbous? The high handlebars? IDK.

I like better the Speed 400's look, and just under $5000.

I love the green Speed 900:

What's the difference between the Speed 900 above and the Street Twin 900 below?

I could be convinced to give any of these a try one day. But not soon.

, looks nice and classic but single cylinder is not for me.

It is probably too small for my frame, but I would consider it as a toy bike if I had the storage.

Of course everyone is different, but the design rubs me the right way.

No difference, it was just a family name change to match the 1200. Speed Twin 900 & Speed Twin 1200.

The Scrambler 400X has larger dimensions than the Speed 400 so I think it will suit a lot of larger/taller riders for a run about. However the local dealer here feels the roadie will outsell the Scrambler 4 to 1. I'm not so sure given that every paint scheme on the Speed 400 has a big union jack logo on it. People aren't mad on that in Ireland given the Islands history.

Still could be worse. See pics of the Chinese Bonneville clone on sale in one of the bike shops here. Tell me which particular name would cause the most offense here in Ireland

[Cormanus]

Clearly or designed with the Irish in mind. Bravo dealer stocking it!

It's not a bad look for me...I'm sure it's the type of thing that would go away once I were to ride it. Seems like as soon as I have any amount of fun on a bike, then suddenly it looks great!

All the above?

Wow. That is cosmetically interestingly well done.

[Gone in 60]

That looks like some of the bikes Mrs. G was sending me pictures of on her recent trip to Europe. Attractive, Chinese-built scrambler/cafe/Triumph clones that she found really neat looking.

I think these new Triumphs look cool. Perhaps the oddly proportioned tanks and handlebars are there to make them rideable for normal adults. If the whole bike was just a scaled-down large Triumph, it would probably have some weird ergos.

I can see a scheme developing here...
-Get Mrs. G all ginned up on riding again
-Show her this neat, cheap, approachable little Triumph
-Buy one
-I now have a fourth bike
-Wait till she never rides it
-Try freeway commuting on it, find it too small and slow
-Trade it for a Guzzi V7

The process would take a full year and a half, but in the end, I eventually get my V7, and don't have to sell any of my current bikes to get it.

Your deviousness just surpassed mine.

Comprehensive, Gone.

What could possibly go wrong?

[Gone in 60]

It worked once, and I went from two to three bikes.
Just need to repeat the process. It takes patience, but it works.

Well the Union Jack on the tank would not go down well but the most problematic would be "Cromwell". Old Oliver was a naughty man in Ireland :-0

None of this matters, as most kids don't know or care anything about "ancient" history!

I hear from a few youngsters to "never look back, only look forward".

So much for Remembrance Day.

= = =

If I were teenager, I'd find a way to jump on that 400 X.
