I like Craig's List. Bought and sold a lot of stuff there. Fast N Free 
Like eBay too, bought and sold lots of bikes, cars and misc. there. Fees to sell are too high imo.
Great place to buy stuff though. Actually, Amazon is extremely good now too.

Craigslist sucks, but you get what you pay for...and sometimes a little bit more. I tried to buy a baby stroller and all I got for my trouble was a running email exchange with someone claiming to be satan. Yeah...

Actually, the Oz prefix for cell phones is 04. So, for you, Spaceman, a call to +61 4 666 should do the trick.

In relation to the earlier discussion about scams, a popular one in Australia goes something like this:
You advertise your bike on a website—in my case gumtree.com.au—and you get a text from someone asking you to email them information about the bike. You do it and get a response telling you they're prepared to buy but can't come personally as they're working in a remote part of Australia. They ask for details of your PayPal account so they can transfer the money. You send them the details and they overpay you then ask you to refund the overpayment via Western Union or a similar organisation. It turns out the funds used to pay you have been stolen and PayPal recovers the entire payment from your account. You're out the amount you 'refunded'. And you still have the bike. If they were really clever they'd have someone come and collect the bike and you'd be short of that too, but they generally operate from overseas and are interested only in the cash.
I was lucky: I found the whole approach odd and did some searching and talking only to discover the scam. I stopped replying to the texts and emails and then heard nothing.

I had a similar request from someone "working overseas on a cruise ship" who wanted to overpay me and have me send the difference back to him. I strung him along for a few email exchanges. He said he wouldn't be back at home in Virginia for a few weeks. I said no problem, just send me the money and I would deliver him the bike personally because my brother happens to live in the next town from him, and I was due to visit him anyway. ( of course I have no brother in Virginia ) That was the end of his emails.
