Yesterday was the saddest Father's Day in my 84 years. Saturday night at 2300, my daughter called with news that her first cousin's seventeen year old son had been in a bad accident and was paralyzed from the neck down and on life-support. He died at about 0730, Sunday morning.
Cael Penney was a wonderful kid. He was with friends riding a dirt-bike with a friend on the back and hit a pot-hole, throwing them both over the front of the bike, where he landed on his head and broke his neck. EMS arrived in about 20 minutes and transported him to the hospital where he was on life-support until he died the next morning. Our entire family is devastated. It was a freak accident, one of those things you just can't believe happened so quickly.
I wanted to start this thread to honor Cael and to have a place for others to honor someone if the occasion arose.

17 is young to leave this world, I'm sure he will be greatly missed by all his friends and family. Chin Up Nachodaddy, he's riding his dirt bike across some outa worldly clouds now to be reunited with his folks sometime in the future.
