Just put a deposit down on one of these ;)

A very nice looking machine. Is that not a version of the FZ-09? Same chassis and powerplant for sure. Also they make an R1 with that nice yellow/black strobe livery.

Checked out an XSR in base trim at a dealer yesterday while I was picking up some parts. The brushed aluminum tank and rear fender was niiiiice. Good price point too. Would change the turn signals to something that better suits the bike, but a really good looking ride. Wish I could do a test ride!
We got one in Stock at the dealer and everybody is saying the same about the signals. They should have used the round, bullet signals they put on the Bolt cruiser.

My dealer finally got his XSR (brushed aluminum version) on the floor Saturday but I couldn't get down there. He was closed Sunday and Monday, so I am headed down in about 1/2 hour or so to check it out.

How was it?

Still too tall for me, dang stubby legs lol. Ergos were good but seat felt hard. Just as in the pictures, after seeing it in person I would have to powder coat the holy bracket under the seat, and the covers on the sides of the radiator, other than that it looked pretty good to me.

My son is loving the motor in his FJ-09, so this one should be a lot of fun for MotoGeezer too.

Just got word back yesterday. Bike had arrived at the warehouse and is going to be at the dealer Monday.
I'm flying up the next Monday to take possession, so they'll have it on display for a few days anyway.
My good buddy Kimball Blake in Knoxville's going to have oil and filter at the ready for when I arrive there at a little under 500 miles into the trip home. Spend the night there, hit the Gap next morning for breakfast. Then continue on home ;)

Congrats and safe journeys. Should be a lot of fun.

have a great ride, Motogeezer.

Picked up the bike, odo showing 0 Monday afternoon, rode it 4 to my friend Jamie's house where I parked it for the night. Rolled into my buddy Kimball's house in Knoxville today, showing 492 miles. We did the 500 mile service and will be heading to the Dragon for breakfast around 9 this morning. Riding position is good, seat nice and firm. Density reminds me of a Corbin. I varied speeds from 60ish to 80's to flow with traffic. Power is phenomenal, even in standard mode. Will easily lift the front through second gear. Feels and handles like a supermoto on steroids.
Averaging 48+ mpg, cruising between 70 and 80 the last couple hundred miles. Garnered almost as many compliments at fill ups as I do with the CB. The plant is smooth, electric motor like with good torque. With ABS, traction control, 3 range power mode (can't wait to try A today), slipper clutch, awesome suspension upgrade and razor sharp handling geometry, this bike is going to be a drivers license challenger I'm thinking. Driving range is 120 to 130 miles with a little room to spare. It's making a welcome addition to the stable, alongside the trusty CB ;) After The Gap, I'll be heading home via 441, my normal route. Redbirds, if you and Sparky want to meet for dinner, I'm planning on staying at my usual spot, The World Inn at McRae GA tonight. Should be home Thursday PM unless I get distracted ;)

It will be interesting to see if this machine holds your interest long term (e.g. over a year).

Sorry I missed this thread earlier or I would have known you were out of pocket. Enjoy the ride!

Just got my insurance invoice with the XSR added. Though motorcycles aren't required to be covered, I have over double the state required minimum coverage for automobiles, 'cause I like to play it safe ;)
The CB is extremely reasonable to insure, and with $250.00 deductibles, less than $200 a year.
The XSR, 3X as much! Still not, IMO, an obscene number, but certainly higher than I was expecting to insure a 67 year old with a primo driving record. Even more interesting, the XSR costs less that the CB did. Anyway, not really complaining, still worth every penny ;)
