This is my first big bike.
It's a 2014 CB1100SA-E, repainted in kingfisher blue.

So far I love it; it's like a quarter-tonne magic carpet. Smoooooth.

Although upkeeping the chrome will be a thing

Oh my! The color they should have produced all these years. I considered buying a blue tank from Samurider back in the day, but couldn't deal with the price tag of $1400 delivered.

That's what happened to me.  Well, you found the right place and the right bike.  Congrats, and great color!  Sometimes I envy the spoke wheels.

I wouldn't sweat it.  It looks good even when it isn't perfect.  When I do clean it, it cleans up nicely and each part gives the impression of being well made.  I don't think you will find it burdensome.
