Handlebar Risers

I put the Rox 2 inch adjustable risers on two nights ago and the lines and cables on the right are pretty tight.

It was dark so I just left everything loose. Can you get a longer brake line from the master cylinder to the front disks? Seems complicated.

It's a shame because the risers place the handlebars in a much better position.

I did genmar risers and also added a tall SuperBike bar. i love it
i did this when I also installed custom length braided stainless steel brake lines

I'm thinking about risers. I like the idea of fully adjustable, pivoting risers like the Rox Speed FX 2-inch pivoting risers. The only downside of that would be a near certain need to reroute cables and get a longer brake line. Price is good, though, at only U.S.$61.

Maybe just go with the [url=http://www.genmarmfg.com/shop/universal-risers/universal-risers,-7-8-bar-style-handlebar-risers-1-up-detail.html]GenMar universal risers (U.S.$76) to see if that does the trick? No need to reroute or extend based on what I've read here.

I adjusted the Rox 2 inch riser in the daylight. They are not a breeze without a stubby allen wrench which I made.

I avoided the tight brake line issue by rotating the master cylinder for the front brakes and clutch.

Feels pretty nice and I must say the adjustable risers offer a lot of variability in sitting positions.

Next ride, I will take the allen wrenches and fine tune the handlebar position.

Yesterday I installed the 2" ROX risers and really like them. I had 2" solid risers installed before but wanted something to bring the bars a little closer to me. The cable seem to be loose enough from full right to full left on the handlebars. I was able to tilt the bars back towards me and and am satisfied.

I used the Bike Masters risers. You can choose your height. I decided to go conservative with 3/4 inch rise, as the brake cable seemed stressed with a full inch (though everyone says 1" is just fine). They were $36.95! However I must warn you that none of the bolts length options that came in the package worked. Can't remember what length, but I had to get slightly shorter bolts than the shortest offered. The shortest would have worked with the full 1", I think.

Alan 15 ft lbs and you tighten forward ones first rearwards last

Thanks Mickey !

I'm going to try the "Bar Backs". Someone else on this thread used them without changing the brake line, hope it works for me. I will give a full report after installation.

I finally added the SW-Motech Barbacks to my DLX today. I wish they were polished aluminum like the OEM parts, but a nice product all the same. They raised the bars 31mm and brought them back 22mm. Huge difference for me, allows me to relax my arms a bit, little bit of bend in the elbow instead of locked. Absolutely no cable or brake line issues, still adequate slack in all. I was back and forth to the shop a few times getting the bar camber and lever angles just right, I like it ! Now on to peg adjustments. The CB is a fine piece of machinery, best I have ever ridden (unlike the MultiStrada :) , but it is not one size fits all. Honda really should offer factory accessories to change the bar and peg positions. The Indian Scout, which was next to the CB on my "short list" offered ergonomic accessories. For the records, I should add that I am 5'11 with 30" inseam.
