Dealership standards for a used bike?

Some of you may have followed my buying a used 2014 CB1100.
From a rural dealership in PA. looks like most of their work is service of quads, dirtbikes, etc.
I bought it, rode it home 240+ miles, and then started my maint. checks.
Rear H&B box cracked at bottom where it mounts to plate. Lucky it didn't go bye bye on my ride home.
Brake/ clutch fluid dark as coffee, possibly origional.
Mouse nest in air filter. Amazing it ran at all.
Haven't lifted tank yet. 😲

So what is the responsibility of a dealer selling a bike?
I know, sold as is, although that was never brought up or in paper work.
I guess I should have looked it over more, but should I have to disassemble the bike?
When I sell a bike it would have none of these problems, and I'm not a dealer.

Some dealers don’t care at all.
When I sell anything, but mostly bikes or cars everything is done and mentioned about what it may need next and when, I don’t hide anything, unless there is something I am not aware of, but I doubt ..

To me it sounds like you say...they're focused on other things; I'll bet they came across the CB1100 via a trade-in and made minimal effort to get it "ready". You were in a difficult logistical situation: 5 hours away, the bike was there, the price was decent, you wanted to get started with a bike over winter...and at least the tires are from '23 and not original. Sounds like you are very capable of getting the bike to top form!

What's the need to "lift the tank"? To inspect the inside for any rust?

Look for any more mouse occupation. 🐀

I still think you got a great deal.

Plus, now you have tales (tails?) to tell...
