Ha, I just found a pistachio. Mmmm.

Beautiful day in the Chico area today! Made it by the Veterans Hall in Durham for this pic with a piece of field artillery. My father-in-law could have said what it was, but not me.

Then headed out for a little cruise through the almond orchards. Absolutely gorgeous for a week or two this time of year! Fragrant, sunny and upper 60's.Almost made up for flat with no curves.

Spring appears to have sprung around here...

Gorgeous scene Ben.

is that where almond milk comes from? I always wondered how you milk an almond.

It is kind of a pain. Cows normally get milked twice a day, and almonds only once, but there are so many of them you have to keep a crew on 24/7 during the short milking season.
As a result, most almond farmers opt to raise them for their meat. As with bovines, the best meat comes from steers, which means they have to neuter the nuts, so to speak.
All in all, it's no wonder so many farmers around here grow rice.

Ben, can you fire this cannon and wake up some Canadian CB riders after winter hibernation, please.

The March challenge is a photograph of your CB1100 with a sign, memorial, museum, etc that is dedicated to a famous person who was born or lived in the city/town. Could be as simple as a highway billboard, name on a water tower, or a small memorial.

Try to pick someone that people would generally recognize. Information on the person is always appreciated.

My example from Lubbock Texas is Buddy Holly. The museum is located in the former Lubbock train depot.

Buddy Holly singing "[url=https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=buddy+holy&&view=detail&mid=F0D6927FB47CA8221430F0D6927FB47CA8221430&&FORM=VRDGAR&ru=%2Fvideos%2Fsearch%3Fq%3Dbuddy%2Bholy%26FORM%3DHDRSC3]Peggy Sue" on the Ed Sullivan show.

Well heck, I live in Gresham, OR, close to Boring, OR...someone famous, huh? Guess I'll have to ride into Portland.

This was an easy one for me so I will defer to the next person to post if mine is first. Ulysses S Grant's Birthplace is about 9 miles from my house, although on today's 50 degrees and sunshiny day I took 53 miles to get there and back lol. Ulysses S Grant was a Commanding General in the US Civil War on the Northern side and became 18th President of the United States. Hard to believe someone from a small and insignificant place as Point Pleasant Ohio could go on to become President of the United States..and he wasn't even a billionaire lol, in fact his family was very poor. He didn't have a single television ad. Local guy makes good!
