sorry , was riding the wrong CB today but i still got a picture of Pensacola's 3 mile bridge
Beautiful. I had the same color. It looks like you kept everything original, congratulations for that.

Had to grab a few more before months end. Found in Chico.

This lovely lady graces the side of a local taqueria.

This fading rendition is of the Gianella bridge brings back memories. It was replaced as the highway 32 bridge over the Sacramento River back in the 70's. It was a narrow 2 lane that was designed carousel style to allow river traffic. Back in the day paddle wheelers ran up the river as far as Red Bluff carrying freight and passengers. They used to clear the channel annually with blasting and dredging. Now you need a jet prop to fish the river.
I was riding in the seat behind the driver on a school bus returning from a football game one night when we met a truck on the bridge. We had to squeeze it a bit and clanged the right side mirror against the bridge, by far the most exciting play of the evening.

This was originally painted on the end of Taylor Hall on the Chico State campus by fledgling artist John Pugh. It launched his career, check him out on the web. Taylor Hall was subsequently demolished and Pugh repainted it on the new structure at the same location 30 years after the original.

Welcome RTH. Lovely bike. Interesting building.

Many thanks for your kind words - I totally agree that this sparkling deep blue fits the CB very well! :-)
Kind regards!

A couple more photos from downtown Santa Ana. This area is between my house and office, if I take surface streets rather than the freeway. Decided to take the long way home yesterday evening.

Time for a re-post of the Challenge concept......

The Challenge: A user (the first one will be yours truly) will pick a location, landmark, geographical feature, etc. to serve as the backdrop for your photo. Users will then post photos meeting the requirement in this thread for our ogling pleasure. The first user to submit a qualifying photo chooses the backdrop for the following month's challenge.

The goal: To encourage users to get out and ride and to document those rides with photos and, most of all, to have a little fun with the whole process.

The Rules:
1. The CB1100 must be the featured bike in the photo. Caption the photo with the date and the location.
2. Feel free to alter your photo to make it look better, but don't cut and paste into another photo just to qualify.
3. The photos should be new photos, not something you had on file and especially not something you posted elsewhere in this forum.
4. You may post multiple qualifying pictures in a month, but the background has to be different (ex. you can post two pictures of your bike in front of a train station, but they have to show two different stations)
5. Not really a rule, but don't stop trying to get a picture for a particular month just because someone beat you to the first post for that month. We want to see lots of pictures.
6. The same user cannot pick the photo subject on consecutive months. If the first photo comes from the same user that posted the first photo in the prior month, the second user posting a photo will get to pick the next background subject.

Truly, 6 rules are probably 5 too many. Just go with the spirit of this challenge and get out and ride your motorcycle!
January Challenge (from EmptySea):

Let's see your CB1100 in front of a statue. Ready? Go!

March's topic of murals/wall art l was one of my favorites yet. Thanks to Ben70 for coming up with it.

The April challenge topic is noroomtomove's to choose. A list of past topics can be found here: http://cb1100forum.com/forum/showthread.php?tid=14115&pid=235265#pid235265 (note that there are no rules against duplication of topics, but we do encourage originality)

Looking forward to participating this time. :)
