Brno MotoGP this weekend

[the Ferret]

Marquez going for 11 in a row.

and guess who was fastest in practice today? Lorenzo and Pedrosa slightly slower.

Marquez fastest again in practice. He has won whether on the pole or from the pit lane. He is on the best bike for sure but he brings something to the race that his challengers lack. We'll see if he can keep this remarkable streak alive.

I'm excited to see how badly FS-1 will hose up the coverage.

Unless things have changed, the English dudes should return.

[the Ferret]

Marquez on pole with 2 Ducatis in front row

Smith, Pedrosa and Lorenzo on second row

Rossi on third row

THIS JUST IN: MARQUEZ IS NOT LEADING THE RACE. I REPEAT, MARQUEZ IS NOT LEADING THE RACE!

Film at 11.

Somebody wins. Others don't.

Enjoyed Nick Harris and Gregory Hines rewatching Indy, although laps between 8 and 3 were once again missed.

MotoGP! Don't want to spoil the race for those who haven't watched. All I'll say is that I'm glad Pedrosa and Valentino did well.

Two weeks to the British GP. Lots of time to reflect on Brno and get ready for the next one.

Oops. I don't have access to the telecast. Didn't know I was a spoiler. I will edit the post.

This just in from the European Desk: Marque Marquez snatches defeat from the jaws of victory. And if you haven't seen the race by now, you should have.

Marc Marquez:

"Today was one of those Sundays in which I neither felt completely comfortable, nor had found the best setup for the bike. It wasn't down to a mistake by me or by the team, it was simply that we didn't have the same feeling as on other Sundays. In a way it's taken a weight off my shoulders, as now people won't be asking me if I can win every race anymore."

I don't have cable. I went to watch it on the free-to-air channel last night and it failed to broadcast. Indeed, it has vanished from the list of available digital channels, along with its network stablemates.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

+1 the difference in race coverage was telling.

Go 46,
Love seeing that old man still doing so well!

FS1 sucks, I like pitlane coverage and rider interviews. Why replay a race we just saw and still have recorded??

[the Ferret]

Havent watched the race yet, but I did text a buddy to find out who won. Pleasantly surprised I was.

One of the interesting observations in wathing the 2 races back to back was the fans. I haven't seen attendance figures for Indy but the stands were sparsely populated. At Bryo 138,00 attended.

Guess it would help if the US had more riders in MotoGP. There are just not that many opportunities for 14 and 15 year olds to participate in organized road racing in America. Spain has 63 road racing tracks.

[the Ferret]

They reported attendance at Indy at 161,000 (normally just over 150,000). That's a big place. Seats like 150,000 .

Yes Spain (and Italy) as a nation supports motorcycle road racing. America does not. Do not expect there will be another US MotoGP champion.

Baloney. Nicky Hayden is coming back any day now. I mean any year now. I mean never.

Spies was our last great hope I suppose. WTF happened to him? Aren't there any US riders in the lower echelons who are up 'n coming? Superbike riders, maybe?
