Ohlins for CB1100
#1

There is already a ton of information on this forum and I wanted to add some pics, technical drawing and written confirmation from our dear friend Jerry at Ohlins USA:

The 362mm length shocks with eyelets at top & bottom would coincide with the ‘HO 010’ & ‘HO 011’ products.

For a ‘piggyback’ version of these shocks you could probably use an ‘HO 414’ (black spring) or ‘HO 417’ (yellow spring) product line. Here is the info:
HO 414: Öhlins shock type S36PR1C1L- rear shocks for Honda CB1300 2003-2011 Pair- black spring: $1530.00 a pair
HO 417: Öhlins shock type S36PR1C1L- rear shocks for Honda CB1300 2003-2011 Pair- yellow spring: $1530.00 a pair
For comparison:
HO 010: Öhlins shock type S36DR1L- rear shocks for Honda CB1100 2010-2011 Pair- black spring: $1085.00
HO 011: Öhlins shock type S36DR1L- rear shocks for Honda CB1100 2010-2011 Pair- chrome spring: $1085.00

I have attached some info. Please call or return email with any questions.
Thank you, Jerry

The ‘HO 417’ shocks utilize a spherical bearing & separate reducer bushing:
Top: 14mm ID
Bottom: 10mm ID

The ‘HO 011’ shocks utilize a rubber bushing with vulcanized sleeve:
Top: 14mm ID
Bottom: 16mm ID

The top will not be a problem. But you would have to make some kind of reducer sleeve for the bottom eyes.

I decided to purchase the piggyback HO-417 and will deal with the bottom part. Looking at the picture from the "Bad Seeds" you can clearly tell, they just used a bolt and most likely some kind of spacer ... I also have a machine shop at work, which I could utilize, but I don't think so it will be required. Down the line a new swing arm is in order to further reduce weight. ( I think forum member LoLa went this route as well, but not in my budget yet ).

Stay tuned for updates on this channel .. and greetings from sunny and warm California !

Wow, cool shocks. Pricey, but cool.

The Ohlin's are nice, but have looked at hyperpro shocks.
Here are a set on my cb. Klaus at EPM performance Imports was great to deal with, set them up to my weight, riding style, I also add length adjustment to them as well. I like how subtle they are as well being all black. NO mod's just bolted right on. Can not wait to try them!!!
Also the piggy back is kicked out ward so it easier mount a rack.

If you shop around, you can get prices significantly lower. I paid a little over $800 for a pair of HO 010s.
